Last night was pretty amazing. I LOVE thunderstorms, and as I was sitting up here in our building at around midnight watching a blizzard, lightening and hearing loud thunder, I was pretty excited. Today the city is completely dead. Hardly any cars, people walking on streets because the sidewalks are buried, (we got almost two feet!) it's pretty amazing. I know in about 24hours I'll be crying over how ugly the snow is and I'm not looking forward to the negative temps we're supposed to get tonight, but because my family is safe, I have nowhere I have to go, and nothing bad happened, I have to say, I LOVED this winter snowstorm. I feel so thankful to have a warm place to stay and pretty lucky to live in a hi rise so I don't have to even think about picking up a shovel.
Here are a few shots from high up last night, and after that are shots I took when I ventured out this evening.
These last two are by far my favorites. The marks in that parking lot remind me of a William Kentridge drawing/film.

I love the last photo - so cool. I hope your hubby got to have a snow day!
ditto on how eventually the beautiful snow will be ugly and annoying!

You guys get the most amazing light in your place.
Wow that first pic is simply amazing! It was such a crazy night but I loved it too. And now I'm over it, kind of having a cabin fever freak out. I enjoyed yesterday though, being able to spend the day with my husband and go play in the snow/go on adventures was pretty fun!
Yeah we get some pretty great light up here it's super nice. Seeley that's my favorite too, it was so excited to view that image from up here.
I'm officially over the snow too now! It's so hard to walk around in and my poor dog starts limping around after one block!
