White Christmas

Merry Christmas!!  I'm always dreaming of a white Christmas.  I can ditch the cold and snow once the New Year hits, but on Christmas, I need me some gigantic snowflakes and a few inches of the white stuff.  This year we are in San Diego with D's family, so there will be no white Christmas for me.  It's hard to be away from my mom and dad and brothers over the holidays, but this is the last Christmas that will happen because once our little girl arrives, we will start our own traditions and spend Christmas morning in our own home and I'm so excited for that!  It's fun to think about what traditions we'll both bring in from our own childhoods, and to think about what new ones we'll add.  I know both D's father and my own read the Night Before Christmas on Christmas Eve. We'll put out Christmas cookies for santa(which means I'll have to start making them!) and we'll do stockings first thing in the morning followed by presents and I think I'll carry over last years homemade doughnut tradition.  Maybe on Boxing Day we'll head off to Michigan, like last year, and  walk along the frozen Great Lake and make a snowman and light a fire in the fireplace to keep our toes warm and snuggle with Woody and our new baby girl. Last year was the best Christmas I've experienced as an adult, but something was missing.  Next year it will be complete.

I hope you both have a wonderful Christmas, even if it's not a white one. It's so lovely thinking about growing up sometimes, thinking about the choices you'll make for your family to-be. I'm sure you are both so excited to carve out that space for yourselves.

Merry Christmas, Michelle! I've only had one white Christmas, but it was for sure the best. I hope you guys have fun in San Diego!

Merry X-mas, Michelle!
We have more snow then ever and it's freezing cold down here! Enjoy your time with your families & take the best of both traditions into your own little family.
